Hi friends! It feels so nice being able to start the work week on a Tuesday. Last week absolutely dragged, but I have a feeling that this week will be quick, quick, quick! Speaking of quick, here’s a quick and fun look into my Memorial Day Monday.
I couldn’t fall asleep until 2 am Sunday into Monday, so I slept in until 9:15.
I had a serious headache going on, so I deemed my morning to be lazy. I spent about an hour on the couch watching The Big Bang Theory and eating a bowl of oatmeal, topped with blueberry maple syrup. Winning combo, fyi!
About an hour and a half after breakfast I headed over to the local fields to torture myself. I love that you have to walk through nature to get to the track!
I loosely followed a Speedy 600 workout that I thought I had found on a blog, but I cannot find it now, so just know that I did a speed workout. I started with a 1 mile warm-up run.
I didn’t realize how muggy it was until my first foot strike, and I instantly began to dread the workout ahead. I pushed myself to 3 miles, and was extremely happy once I finished.
With the speedy 600’s, I was able to push myself past my comfort zone, and I realized that my body could handle running at a faster pace. Once my Garmin beeped for 3 miles, I instantly came to a dead halt and passed out on the grass.
On my drive home from the track, I swung by Shaw’s to browse the flower arranagments…
And grab a few last minute essentials for the work week.
After a shower, strawberry protein shake and some random things, I broke into a late lunch. Ground turkey with asparagus, spinach and mushrooms. I am on a serious asparagus kick right now!Perfect end to my Monday. Date night at Firefly American Bistro. A guy who picks you up.. Chivalry is not dead fellas.
Do you do speed workouts at the track? How often?
What’s your favorite way to eat asparagus?
I love it crispy and grilled!!
